Designed for a retired couple from Virginia, built on a site that is remote from power lines. It is designed to cost as little as possible to construct, while still being durable, and ideal for solar powered electric heat and appliances.

There is a propane heater and propane generator backup system, and a pellet stove in the daylight basement, but with a little luck and fair weather, they are unnecessary.

The south roof plane is at 60 degrees to accommodate future thermal solar panels.

The site has a 12 degree slope, but the design can easily adapt to a more level grade. The basement can be a comfortable studio apartment.
