For interior cabinetry and woodwork, plywood is most often the most economical material that will give you the most pleasing results. It comes in thicknesses 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 5/8″, 3/4″ and sometimes up to 1-1/8″. Most sheets have a smooth and a rough side. The smooth side is usually free of nicks and ready for a light sanding and a stain finish. Cutting plywood requires a high rpm with a blade that has around 9 – 12 teeth per inch. A frame cutting blade will shred the cut.
